Linda J. Vars - Artistic Director
Bio:
Linda J. Vars was a founding member of and performer with Image Company in 1976, and began writing and directing children's theatre in 1983. She joined Newport Children's Theatre in 1986, and was named Resident Director the following year. She has written several children's plays based on the improvisations of her young casts, and was the creator and founding artistic Director of NCT Rep in 1992. She became NCT co-Artistic Director in 1997, and was named sole Artistic Director in 2001. Linda's acting credits include performances with local companies The Incredibly Far Off-Broadway Ensemble Theatre (TIFOBET), The Rhode Island Shakespeare Theatre (TRIST), Bottom Doubt, and Newport Repertory Theatre.
